Well, from the source we have found that Jio will give huge benefits to all users on its Launch offer. Well, in this case, you will get first three months of Jio DTH service absolutely free. In fact, you will only have to for the set top box price. The registration may start between 10 -15th of May 2017.
Furthermore, Jio may soon be going to open the public booking of Jio DTH. In addition, there are a total of 432 channels listed on the offer. What is Unique in Jio DTH TV?
Well, It many other features which are not available on your existing DTH service provider. Rumor also says that this could be an IPTV network. Thereafter you can browse the whole internet in your normal or HD TV. This will turn your standard television into giant SMART TV. So I think jio has revolutionized the way of entertainment in India.
When Will Jio DTH Service Launch?
Let me tell you correctly. So as you know currently the company is working on their optical fiber enabled Reliance Jio broadband service. If you are from Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad or Surat than you can avail this DTH service under Jio fiber preview offer. They are spreading the fiber network connection to all the urban areas in the country. Hopefully, Jio may launch its DTH service in this Diwali.
So there is no official confirmation on that and still, we have no clue whatsoever. However, I will make sure to update every bit of news on this page when they will launch it. I will also announce the launch date of Jio DTH on my post.
Jio DTH Registration & Booking
Jio has no started yet the booking service yet but I will let you know the whole procedure in advance. The booking and registration can be done using my jio app as well as Jio official website later.
- The registration can be done from jio.com official link
- Now you need to enter your basic details like mobile number, name and address
- For the sake of simplicity, I recommend you to use your jio mobile number
- Thereafter you will receive an OTP confirmation SMS on your register number
- Put that OTP on the web page and your Customer ID, the address will be verified.
- Also, you will get your DTH connection within 5-7 business days.
Keep your registered number safe with you for future. You will also receive your DTH Subscribe ID on that number and you will receive periodic updates.
How to Apply Online?
You can apply online for DTH from amazon.in marketplace. However amazon is not currently selling the set top box so we have to wait for it. I will guide you a simple tutorial on how to apply for this DTH online.
Meanwhile you can use Jio TV app to get free DTH service for 3 months. Just download the app on your mobile and start streaming live TV anytime, anywhere.
DTH Set Top Box Price
The DTH set top box will be available for approx ₹900 in India. While comparing this price with other companies like dish tv, airtel digital tv, tata sky and videocon d2h they are charging around ₹1500. So clearly Jio is playing fair for Indian consumers here.
Futhermore the installation will be free of cost. It means that you will get standard installation (set up) of your antenna from a local technical for free. Also the set top box receiver will come with a warrantee of 1 year. If anything wrong happens with the receiver itself, you will get free replacement from the Reliance Authority.

Well there plan names are leaked as for now. Home pack are basically a budget plan which cover all the entertainment channel and it also have some sports channels. The silver plan comes in the broader section with all the movies, hindi channels, sports, kids, infotainment, music channels comes free. Further more, Platinum plan is for HD subscribers with the maximum number of channels.
So basically there are 100 entertainment, 27 infotainment, 31 devotional, 139 news, 23 kids, 12 lifestyle, 38 movie, 34 music,20 sports and remaining 8 business channels. It has Colors TV, Sony, Star networks, Zee networks, Star sports, Ten sports, ABP News, DD sports including many major channels.

Waiting for dth release and connection quickly. Inform the customers different packages and number of channels in regional languages , news, sports etc. If disk is with us what we have to do or any other alternatives.

Hi Pankaj, Good news from you. However Jio DTH must consider that all of us are already owning set top boxes purchased from earlier providers. A solution must be found to use them instead of buying new set top boxes and reducing the electronic waste. .
You made a valid point. Instead of recycling and creating waste we can simply use old DTH boxes. However i think is impossible because certain set top box made for certain frequency. However receivers can be a default choice in all cases.

I like to use Jio Broadband also .
Brother this noble thought of saving electronic waste is good. but when v start using existing dth boxes with jio then these existing dth providers will claim that dth box is their property and cant b used with other operators.
Setup boxes are bought by consumers hence no company can claim that it’s theirs as we have paid for it. Yes if company provides setup boxes for free then they can claim its theirs…. We can also have the card replaced like Sims instead of replacing the setupboxes ….
